Welcome to Ascentia House
A safe, nurturing home for children and youth.
At Ascentia House, we provide compassionate, trauma-informed residential care for young people navigating complex life challenges. Rooted in empathy, structure, and cultural understanding, our home is a place of healing and hope.
About Us
Ascentia House is a specialized group home in Pickering, Ontario, serving children and youth under the age of 18. We offer a supportive, stable environment where residents can heal, grow, and build the life skills they need to thrive.
Founded by Okey Paulicap Okeke, MSW, RSW, our home is guided by principles of respect, dignity, and individualized care. With a capacity for up to four residents, we focus on ensuring each young person receives the attention and support they deserve.
Our Approach
Trauma-Informed & Culturally Competent Care
We understand that behind every behaviour is a story. Our trauma-informed model shifts the focus from judgement to understanding—helping residents rebuild trust, emotional stability, and self-worth.
We honour each child’s cultural, spiritual, and personal identity. For Indigenous youth, we incorporate holistic care practices inspired by the Medicine Wheel—nurturing mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.
